Former Pupil Biographies

Dr Christiana Spens MA, MLitt, PhD ( - current)

Christiana attended Madras College and went to Cambridge University where she graduated MA (Hons) in Philosophy. Her dissertation was entitled 'The Slave-Master Relationship in Nietzsche and Hegel'.

She then came back to Fife and at St Andrews University she gained a M.Litt in 2013 for her dissertation on 'Images of War and Terror: An analysis of the Abu Ghraib pictures in the context of official images of the War on Terror, the history of war photography in the US, lynching photographs and pornography'

This was followed by a PhD in International Relations, with her thesis 'Playing the Villain: The Portrayal of Terrorists in Western Media'. She received The Dr. Handa PhD Scholarship for Terrorism and Political Violence (2013 - 2016).
