Yvette was working in a thrift shop some years before donating the book to Madras College. The company policy was to throw out any books that were tattered and deemed 'unsellable'. Because of the history behind this book she could not see this happening so she tagged and purchased the book for herself. After some years, rather than it just sitting on her bookshelf she contacted the school to see if we would like to have it as part of the history of the school. After more than 150 years she donated the book to Madras and paid for it to be shipped from Canada. Thank you Yvette.
